So Much To See, So Much To Buy

Anthropologie is just bursting at the seams with new Spring styles, keeping me busy arranging and rearranging my wish list. It's just not fair to put so much temptation in my way. My hope is that if I blog about it, maybe just maybe some sort of a need will be filled and I'll be able to hold back from buying. Truth is I'm not a crazy shopper. I usually buy one piece of clothes at a time, and only if I really like it. The problem I'm facing now is actually isolating one piece to fill the craving. Here are some items I've recently added to my wish list.

Now, even though we're all much happier contemplating Spring wardrobe because, quite frankly, everyone is fed up with winter, the fact remains that here on the east coast
we're still freezing our behinds off. This is a good time to pick up some cozy winter items at great sale prices. I just got myself the Innovation Mockneck on sale for $49.95 with free shipping (another reason to love Anthropologie, free shipping!). This sweater was a happy purchase all around. It's warm, cute, flattering to the figure and the price is right.

Metamorphosis - A Sneak Peak at Spring

The above graphic came from an e-mail I received from Anthropologie with a link to sneak peaks at Spring. I gotta say it was a major treat. Anthropologie took it's cue from Oilily and created a visual enchantment of nature inspired designs. I love the graphics and the interactive setup with a fluttering butterfly. It seems like butterflies are an ongoing theme this spring at Anthropologie.

Occasionally Anthropologie comes out with styles that just make one ask WHY? Whenever that happens, I always tell myself there must be some Anthropologie shopper out there, who for reasons incomprehensible to me, will appreciate these bizarre items. However, the shoes below are just completely off the map in my opinion. Do tell me if I'm wrong on this.

Exhibit A is Pristine Lace Ups with a price tag of $268. Where exactly does one wear these, to play golf? Hang out in the country club? I'd personally feel totally ridiculous walking down the street in them.


Next up are the Cartwheel Heels shoes - $278. A Zebra pattern? That's right up there with leather pants and leopard print sweaters. Yeeek.


Miss Prism Slingbacks - $398 (They've got to be kidding!) Would anyone in their right mind wear these, much less pay $398 for them?! Maybe I don't understand fashion. Maybe there's a crazy fashionista out there who would feel glamorous in these, who knows?


Steppe Lively Sandals - $258. Nice shoes.....if you're a Gladiator!


Perforated Peeptoes - $278. They have the look of orthopedic shoes my Grandma used to wear (just with a bigger heel). I wonder if overpricing ugly shoes actually works in inspiring shoppers to purchase them?


Memory Lane Boots - $178. Memory lane is where these boots should have been left.

Ok, Spring did not exactly arrive yet, but who's to stop us from shopping for it?

Free Shipping from Anthropologie? I must be dreaming!

Hey everyone! Have I made a discovery worth blogging about!
I wanted to place an Anthropologie order online for a sale item. As always I was annoyed with the shipping charges. So I did a search for anthropologie coupon codes. As all of you well know, there is no such thing. Unless you have a gift card or an actual coupon code issued by Anthropologie, there will be no discounts for you.
As I was about to give up, I've stumbled upon another blogger who mentioned receiving free shipping from Anthropologie by using her Anthro card. All you have to do is go to www.myanthropologie.com and follow the instructions to link your anthro card number to you account. Once you do that, standard shipping automatically comes out free. How cool is that? According to the Anthro info page, this offer was valid through December 31. However, it worked for me today so use it while you can.

Hauntingly beautiful images from Kaat Tilley, a Belgian fashion designer and artist. It was ingenious to display these fashions in a nocturnal setting. So enchanting!

Anthropologie January 2008 Catalog

I'm always excited to see a new Anthropologie catalog arrive in the mail. Here are some pages from the January catalog I received yesterday.

This double page spread reminds me of the movie Running With Scissors. The nutty Doctor in the movie had a bunch of furniture spread out on his front lawn.
The feel and the colors of this catalog are very refreshing. Being January, I'm a little puzzled why the clothes are more Spring rather than Winter.

I don't know about the flowery dress. Looks to me like something left over from the sixties. Not all fashion deserves a revival. Point in case - the 80's.

Doolittle embroidered blouse, very feminine.

I love the above spread. It's so whimsical, with flying teapots and umbrellas floating beneath the arched bridge.

Definitely reminds me of my closet.
