Anthropologie Inspired

I'm sure I don't have to tell you, that the allure of Anthropologie is not just about the clothing. It's the creativity, the artistry, and the attention to detail that saturates every aspect of the store, from display design to catalogs and, of course, clothing design.

Anthro posted a video on their channel that shows the incredible effort that went into creating the 2015 Gift Book.

Here are some pages from the gift catalog, which I am sure you've already seen.

Gifts for her.

On one hand I feel that it is simply crazy to go through all that trouble just to sell some more stuff, but on the other hand, I can't help but feel inspired by all the creativity and talent that goes into it.

And there's also the store windows and display design. There's  no other brand that I know of, with such magical ambiance in its stores. For me, the Anthropologie store is a destination even if I don't buy anything. Simply, feasting my eyes on the elaborate, one-of-a-kind displays and inhaling the air, fragrant with the scent of candles is enough of a pick-me-up.

Jazz Age Lawn Party 2012

I had the best time at the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island today! And to think, I almost did not end up going. If it wasn't for my surprisingly lucky break in winning a VIP pass from Veuve Ambal, I might have ended up upstate this weekend. Since I never win anything (and not for lack of trying), I figured this must be fate and I better make good use of my free pass.
Now that I'm back, I don't know how I could have even considered missing this event. The parade of all the amazing costumes was a total feast for the eyes and the jazz music, played by Dreamland Orchestra, is still ringing in my ears. I took a million pictures and will try to put them up on the blog in the coming week. In the mean time, here's a little teaser.

Some Seriously Stylish Grannies

Most of these ladies are over 80.
Man, I hope if I live to a ripe old age, I'll still have the will
to get all dolled up like these stylish grannies.

Dish Display

One day I hope to have a dish display worthy of all the
artistically mismatched dishes I've collected.

Etsy Meets Anthropologie

While browsing on Etsy I found this backpack which is handmade out of Anthropologie placement napkins. Jenny Vella, the creator of this backpack also added some vintage lace to the body and straps. I love crafty people, they make life just a bit more exciting.

Butterflies Everywhere

Butterflies are everywhere! I don't know about you, but frankly I'm starting to OD on butterflies. I'm curious, are there crowds of women out there, going about their daily business clad in butterflies? I'd love to know (Ok, I confess, I don't get out much).

Butterflies in Spring Oilily Collection

I have to admit I like this skirt. Out of all the butterfly fashion I've seen so far it's the least offensive.

Butterflies in Anthropologie

I don't dig maternity clothes. I hated them when I was pregnant and I positively refuse to wear them when I'm not.
