Here is proof that beautiful gifts don't have to be expensive.
I've recently discovered limited edition pop-up books by Mathew Reinhart and I'm addicted! These books are absolutely magical. Forget the kids, I couldn't tear myself away from Reinhart's Cinderella book. The pop-ups aren't like anything I've seen before. There are layers upon layers of animated cardboard with very detailed beautiful illustrations. The mice get transformed into horses before your very eyes, a castle grows out of a page, and the dancers at the ball spin around. These books will hold a child's attention and develop a child's imagination. The craftsmanship is just awe inspiring.
Among the available titles are The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Star Wars, Castle, and a series of Encyclopedias (Mega Beasts, Dinosaurs, Sharks and other Sea Monsters, Mythologica). The Pop-up Book of Phobias would make an amusing gift for an older child or an adult.
