Be Still My Heart

Can a jacket get any sweeter? The new Anthropologie Blue Spruce Jacket - $88 sports a little sparrow on it's shawl collar. I also love the feminine pleats and puff sleeves. As the name of the jacket implies, it's also available in blue. I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's just not fare to put so much temptation in my way. Anthropologie, have pity on my weak little self and my wallet!

Happy Summer!

Pictures form Anthropologie on 5th Ave and 16th Street.

I love these new glasses. I don't know what they're called, since they're not on the website yet, but I can't wait to display them in my kitchen. Such happy summery colors!

A field of mushroom salt and pepper shakers.

What a cozy nook. Anthropologie display designers are my heros. I wonder if they make house calls?

Chandelier made out of rags.

This chandelier is so magical, it reminds me of a tent with little dwellers in it.

Anthropologie-Like Styles at Old Navy Prices

On my recent visit to Old Navy, I've discovered their new embroidered collection for Women and girls and I'm totally smitten. The colors are so dreamy and the embroidery is just beautiful. The quality is surprisingly good for Old Navy prices. I think the idea of coordinating outfits for Mother and daughter is kind of cute, especially for a Summer family portrait on the beach (I'm a photographer so portraits are always on my mind). Most of these styles are available in other colors, but I put in the colors that appeal to me most.
Empire Top - $24.50

Embroidered top for little girls - $14.50

Women's Halter Dress - $23.70

Embroidered Girls Mexicali Dress - $24.50
I got this dress and the one below it for my daughter.

Smocked Tunic - $24.50

Lace-Trim Tank - $12.50
I got this cozy tank to sleep in. The crochet lace has the look and feel of hand-made vintage lace.

Summertime at Anthropologie

Aaah, the long summer days, the golden sunsets, the low murmur of the ocean...

I'm all for some good reading, but reading in the road just doesn't look safe.
She looks like she's about to get hit by that approaching car.

Bed on wheels?

I love the whole "Dressed up statues" look. Very creative and humorous. These statues are always way too dignified looking, it's about time someone gave them a little color. One does wonder though whether the color will attract more birds. We all know how much birds love statues and what they do to them.
