Calypso Skirt

An interesting find from ModCloth.com

The Calypso Skirt ($54.99) is so unusual and romantic. It looks like something out of a storybook. Not sure what occasion one would wear this skirt to, but it's nice to see something completely out of the ordinary.

The top layer is delicately ruffled, has an asymmetrical hem sweeping from bodice to train, and three hook-and-eye closures at high waist.
There's an elasticized-back waistband, and a corseted ribbon tie over it.
According to reviews, this skirt runs very small, so order size up.

I can see the Calypso skirt worn with some black fishnet stockings
and vintage style lace-up booties similar to these.

Granny Bags

Since my encounter with the Evolution Shoulder bag, in a natural progression of events, I ended up browsing for bags on the Internet, and while I was not successful in locating the coveted Evolution bag, I did make a few interesting discoveries. As you can see, I was going for a vintage "Granny" look.

Morgan Shoulder Bag by HOBO International.
Does this bag look familiar? Anthropologie used to carry it
in green and called it Green Tomato Satchel.

Lynn Satchel by HOBO
I like the rounded top and the gathers.

Robin Wallet by HOBO International
Cute and vintage looking, it's a perfect match to the HOBO bags.

WANTED (Badly)

I became very attached to the Evolution Shoulder Bag on my last Anthropologie outing. It looks (to me), much better in person than it does in this picture. It's nice and roomy without being too huge and I always wanted a "Granny" looking bag.
I carried it around the store and it felt like we belong together. The only thing that stood between us is a little annoying piece of cardboard called price tag. This one read $198. Can't even contemplate this purchase in my current broke state. Still, I was not deterred and took it to the register to check if by some stroke of good luck the bag was really on sale. It was not :-(.
The bag and I had to part. I don't buy bags very often and don't own too many, but I can't seem to get this one out of my head. Since it's no longer on the website, I won't be able to check on it's sale status. If any of you lovely ladies who work at Anthropologie can please please please give me a heads up if or when this bag goes on sale in stores, you'd make me so very happy!
Alternatively, I do accept gifts and I think it's high time Anthropologie presented me with one for all the free PR.

Does anyone know who makes this bag?

Another gorgeous top by Floreat.
The styling, with embroidery on the sides,
dark waist band and flutter sleeves,
is somewhat reminiscent of the Cinched Medallion Blouse.

Best In Show Blouse - $128

Buds & Stripes Top - $78
Surprise, surprise, this one's got stripes in the back.

Shoe Cravings

I don't think I buy nearly enough shoes. Time for a treat :-)

The Carraroe Heel, otherwise known as the Seychelles Potion Pump is at the top of my craving list. I love the vintage, 1930's - 40's style of these shoes and the contrasting color detail. Anthropologie only has size 7.5 left, but I found them on Endless for $79.95 in all three colors. Though I like the look of the cream/brown combo, I think I'd get more wear out of the brown/blue or the black/plum.

Always liked t-straps. The cute little heel hopefully makes these shoes really comfortable for walking, plus Biviel shoes are usually made out of the best quality, buttery leather.

Geox Donna Adele Mary Jane
Very sweet looking shoes. I like the scallops and the double buckle.

Clarks Wonderous Mary Jane Pump

Miz Mooz Kailia Mary Jane
As you can see, there's a pattern here. I'm addicted to retro style Mary Janes.

Clarks Artisan Taipei Pump
I already have these shoes in black and though I had some sizing issues initially (6.5 was loose, 6 pinched), I ended up breaking them in and now I love them. Considering getting the charcoal version as well. They're now on sale for $59.90
